Wizard of Legend 2 is a roguelite that has unleashed its full PC v1.0 version on June 12, 2025, thanks to developers Dead Mage and publisher Humble Games, and also launched on consoles. I haven’t played the first game, so I went in fresh to this blend of fast-paced, elemental combat along with captivating graphics and co-op gameplay that kept me coming back for more runs.
The game grabbed me from the first trailer and continued to impress me with its visual performance. The graphics are smooth and stylized well, presenting a vibrant aesthetic that was a joy to play through each biome. Character animations are fluid, spell effects showcase the intensity and uniqueness of each element, and the environmental details, from crumbling ruins to arcane structures, draws you deeper into the game’s world.

In an age of myth and magic, ambitious wizards from around the world have assembled to undertake the perilous Trials of Legend in the Floating Lands. Many will try. Most will fail. Only those who have truly mastered the chaotic, shifting elemental forces of Arcana will become a Wizard of Legend! The core experience lies in its fast and fluid gameplay, a relentless meld of dodges, dashes, and devastating elemental attack spell effects. Combat encounters are dynamic, requiring quick reflexes and a mix of spell weaving. The controls are incredibly responsive, allowing for seamless transitions between offensive and defensive manoeuvers.
What elevates the levels was the various directions you can explore, encouraging exploration and rewarding players who venture off the beaten path. This layer of branching paths and alternate challenges makes each run feel distinct and less predictable. You are often rewarded with treasure chests, health restoration or just more monsters to kill. The inclusion of fast travel points ensures you can quickly get back on track without tedious backtracking.

I died to the first boss, but it’s all part of the learning and growth of your character and their abilities depending on the element you chose for your character. Each trial run takes you one step closer to becoming the Wizard of Legend. The player hub serves as a sanctuary and a central point for progression. The fireplace enables you to invite players for co-op action with mates where complementary spell builds can create some great synergies. The seamless integration of multiplayer adds immense value, making Wizard of Legend 2 an ideal pick for friends looking for a co-op roguelite fix.
The hub also acts as your personal magical wardrobe and workshop. As you progress, you’ll unlock a wealth of cosmetics and enhancements for your wizard’s abilities. This includes new robes, arcane accessories, and even alternative elemental looks for your spells, allowing you to personalise your character. These unlocks provide a compelling incentive to push through tougher challenges, adding a satisfying layer of persistent progression to the otherwise run-based gameplay. The addition of achievements, new contracts, and customisation options ensures that every playthrough feels fresh and rewarding.

Overall, Wizard of Legend 2 refines what made the original great, while expanding on its formula with thoughtful additions like more expansive maps and gorgeous visuals. The adrenaline-pumping combat, customisation and skill progression casts a powerful spell that will keep aspiring wizards enchanted for countless hours. Whether you’re a veteran of the first game or a newcomer to the arcane arts, Wizard of Legend 2 is an easy recommend for any roguelite co-op fans.
