We woke up to the news this morning to a socials post from CD Projekt Red announcing development of a new Witcher game, which has fans excited, including me!

Heading to the official website, CD Projekt Red indicated this is a new saga for the Witcher series. “At this point, no further details regarding the game – such as a development time frame or release date – are available.”
This is an exciting moment as weβre moving from REDengine to Unreal Engine 5, beginning a multi-year strategic partnership with Epic Games. It covers not only licensing, but technical development of Unreal Engine 5, as well as potential future versions of Unreal Engine, where relevant.
One of my favourite voice actors of all time, Doug Cockle, claims he knows nothing about the project.
Yay! And before you ask… I know nothing… π @witchergame @CDPROJEKTRED #witcher #TheWitcher #Videogame #videogames #gaming #gamers https://t.co/tI9MZdiF6c

Time will tell, and it’s likely years away yet, but it’s all very exciting nonetheless! CD Projekt Red did add to the end of the post, “REDengine, the technology which powers Cyberpunk 2077, is still being used for the development of the upcoming Cyberpunk 2077 expansion.” It might just be time to jump back in to Cyberpunk 2077 to see how all of the changes from all of the latest updates to the game since release.
