Forever Skies Lands Early Access Launch Date of June 22

[Editor’s note: You can read our full review of Forever Skies here.]

Forever Skies, the upcoming first-person, sci-fi survival game has a release date for its Early Access PC launch on June 22, 2023, with consoles to follow at a later date. Along with the announcement, developers Far From Home have also released a brand-new trailer with never-before-seen ‘Under the Dust’ gameplay footage.

Forever Skies is a post-apocalyptic, sci-fi survival game that has players exploring an ecologically ruined Earth. Players will navigate the world in a high-tech, mobile airship that they will build, upgrade and customize. On top of exploring the skies, players will also venture beneath the toxic dust that blankets the Earth’s surface. Scavenge for rare resources, defend yourself against viruses and modify pathogens to boost your body. Discover what became of humanity before its downfall and be wary of what mother nature has allowed to evolve in this new, toxic environment under the dust.

Both Johnny and I have played the demo a few times through and it gets cooler each time we play. Starting in your crashed ship, you must search and scavenge for resources, find a scanner and then scan elements and debris in order to learn about the world, and the dangers it entails. It’s a survival game at its core, so you will need to look for food that doesn’t poison you and drink clean water. You can eat any old food or drink dirty water, but alien diseases are rife. You can learn to craft cures, but you will need to do the leg work in researching, scanning and crafting the food.

Forever Skies will release on Steam early access on June 22 and is in development for current gen consoles.
