The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Final Trailer

We are now less than a month out from one of the biggest releases of the year with The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, launching exclusively on Nintendo Switch on May 12, 2023. Overnight we were treated the final trailer from Nintendo ahead of the game’s launch and right from the opening moments as we watch Link shoot down towards the surface, the music got me well and truly hooked and I was in for the ride.

In this sequel to 2017’s The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (has it really been that long?!), you’ll decide your own path through the sprawling landscapes of Hyrule and on the mysterious islands floating in the vast skies above. Discover new destinations, dangers, sights and puzzles that will require your wits and resourcefulness to overcome. Early into the trailer and just after a castle rises from the sand, we get a short look at what appears to be the evil Ganondorf who is voiced by Matthew Mercer.

We also see what looks like a large underground cavern indicating we could be exploring dungeons which is exciting. We also see several forms of transportation with Link using what appears to be liquid spheres, a wingsuit, gliding across Hyrule some some kind of winged object, some floating sections through what look like laser beams, and finally across jumping platforms. It looks like Zelda will also be playing a significant role in this game as we see her with tears on her cheeks as she lifts the Master Sword. There’s a whole heap to unwrap in this third and final trailer and it’s intriguing and exciting wondering what it all means!

There’s not long to wait now and to get your pre-order in at your favourite retailer or online store. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom launches exclusively on Nintendo Switch on May 12, 2023.
