Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater Coming to PC, PS5 and XSX

As part of the PlayStation Showcase last week, Konami Digital Entertainment B.V. announced Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater is in production and will release on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater (pronounced delta, not triangle) will be a faithful remake of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater that originally released in 2004 on the PlayStation 2. A new generation of players, me included, and loyal fans alike can experience the origin story of the famed Big Boss, and witness how his legend was forged in the crucible of Operation Snake Eater. The remake will star the original voice characters, rich storyline and expansive features of combat survival in harsh environments evolved with unprecedented graphics and immersive sound.

If that news wasn’t cool enough for you, Konami is also working on reliving the first three entries into the Metal Gear Solid franchise through the Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1. My first foray into the Metal Gear series was on PS4 with Metal Gear Solid V: Phanton Pain, so I am keen to go back to where it all began. This collection contains the beginning of the Metal Gear series in one complete package including:

  • Metal Gear Solid
  • Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty (HD Collection version)
  • Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater (HD Collection version)

The Metal Gear series is all about players avoiding combat and infiltrating enemy territory undetected, a complete reversal of common action gameplay resulting in the creation of a brand-new game genre: stealth action. The first Metal Gear game was released in 1987 and the series celebrated its 35th anniversary in 2022. Head on over to the official Metal Gear website to follow development of both Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater and Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1.
