PS Plus Collection Games Leaving PS5 in May

Ever since my wife was able to secure me a PlayStation 5 for my birthday in 2021 (what a legend!), I have been enjoying playing some absolute classics that are part of the PS Plus collection. Games such as God of War, Days Gone and The Last of Us Remastered were instantly added to my collection and I enjoy the freedom of going back to them whenever I am in the mood, without having previously purchased them. I did have a PlayStation 4 back in 2016 however had to sell it to afford IVF for my two beautiful daughters. I missed that whole era of PlayStation games that released over the period 2017-2021 with games like Horizon Zero Dawn, God of War, Spiderman, and so many amazing PlayStation games.

However, in Sony’s latest update of games being added to the PS Plus collection this month, they added a note to the bottom of the article that states from May 9, the PS Plus Collection will no longer be offered.

“We also wanted to provide an update on the PlayStation Plus Collection that has been offered as a benefit to PlayStation Plus members on PS5 since 2020. On May 9, the PlayStation Plus Collection will no longer be offered. If you haven’t redeemed the titles in this collection yet, you can do so until May 9, which will enable you to access those titles even after this date for as long as you remain a PlayStation Plus member.”

At first my heart sank as I thought we would lose access to them completely, but I am relieved that if we have already, or do redeem them before May 9, we will still have access to them as part of our subscription. If you haven’t done so already, definitely add them to your collection before we lose the ability to do so. Below is a list of first and third-party games that will be affected by this change.

PlayStation First-Party Games

  • Bloodborne
  • Days Gone
  • Detroit: Become Human
  • God of War
  • Infamous Second Son
  • Ratchet and Clank
  • The Last Guardian
  • The Last of Us Remastered
  • Until Dawn
  • Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End

PlayStation Third-Party Games

  • Batman: Arkham Knight
  • Battlefield 1
  • Call of Duty: Black Ops III – Zombies Chronicles Edition
  • Crash Bandicoot N Sane Trilogy
  • Fallout 4
  • Final Fantasy XV Royal Edition
  • Monster Hunter: World
  • Mortal Kombat X
  • Resident Evil 7 Biohazard

I will definitely be grabbing at least all of the first-party games before May 9, and you can too. For all the latest news and information about the PS Plus Collection, head over to the official website.
