Chris InglisI have had the sci-fi city builder IXION on my wishlist for a while and missed the first chance at playing the demo earlier this year. However when the latest Steam Next Fest demo was extended by a week, I jumped in and I am so glad I did. Kasedo Games & Bulwark Studios have announced that IXION will be releasing on Steam and other digital PC platforms worldwide on November 16th, 2022.
In IXION, players will guide their crew of survivors on a perilous journey through space to find a new home for humanity. Station infrastructure, population management, exploration, and ultimate survival will all be part of the job description as the Administrator of the Tiqqun space station. In other similar games, I often got overwhelmed with what to do however the progression and helpful prompts in IXION meant I understood and enjoyed every part of the hour of gameplay I saw in the demo, and I wanted more. The ending cinematic ending in an explosive way so it’s got me very intrigued as to where the story is headed.
Six sectors can be unlocked within the station, each able to house more population, support new jobs, and provide opportunity to monitor the crew with the Data Listening System. DOLOS are famed for their innovative technology, their scientists, but the Tiqqun now finds itself cut off. Find what resources you can, research what you do not have. Find new ways to provide for your settlement, construct new buildings to create what’s needed. Modify the Tiqqun station, improve it, forge ahead in this odyssey. IXION will lead the player through gripping chapters of story, where new threats and opportunities are presented, all in aid of reaching the final destination, a new home.
IXION is scheduled for release on PC on November 16th 2022.
