Logitech G733 LIGHTSPEED Wireless RGB Headset Review

The Logitech G733 LIGHTSPEED wireless headset presents itself as a stylish and comfortable wireless gaming headset. Its lightweight design, incorporating a suspension headband and soft ear cushions, contributes to some awesome gaming sessions. I had moved away from Logitech headsets in recent years, but I rediscovered some familiar features and well as some minor nitpicks, but this wireless headset is an excellent and affordable choice for gamers.

Equipped with PRO-G 40mm drivers, the Logitech G733 delivers respectable sound for both listening to music and playing games. While listening to music, the sound quality is generally good though they lack heavy bass, even when adjusting the equaliser settings. The headset’s 87.5 dB SPL/mW sensitivity offers a decent volume level but there were times where some songs and game sounds made the headset crackle slightly at higher volume levels.

In terms of surround sound gaming, I utilised some of the game-specific options such as Baldur’s Gate 3 and Cyberpunk 2077. Generally, you can hear directional sounds as things pass you, but you do need to pay attention for them. Again, the sounds lack a bassy punch in games like Doom Eternal but are fine in RPGs and games where directional sound isn’t required. I loved utilising the Logitech G-Hub and being able to see the headset battery power remaining by right clicking on the tray icon.

The headset offers up to 29 hours of battery life on a single charge, ensuring uninterrupted gameplay. The LIGHTSPEED wireless technology provides a stable connection with a range of up to 20 meters, minimizing latency. My previous two wireless headsets would always cut out when I moved to the back of my house to check on my daughters, however the Logitech G733 never skipped a beat that far away.

The detachable boom microphone utilises Blue VO!CE technology, effectively capturing voice and reducing background noise which is fine for Discord chats. However, for streaming and gameplay recording, I stuck with my dedicated microphone AT2020+ microphone.  Additional features on the headset include a volume wheel, mute button, and customisable RGB lighting. The RGB lights on the front acted as a perfect low-light torch as I tiptoed down to check on my girls in the evenings. Adjusting the volume slider prompted the volume bar to popup on my PC but it didn’t adjust the sound up and down.

The Logitech G733’s lightweight construction at 278g and adjustable suspension headband provides great comfort during extended gaming sessions. Initially the earpieces pressed firm against my head but that lessened as I used them day after day. The soft dual-layer memory foam ear cushions are comfortable and don’t get hot, however they are shallow compared to previous headsets and I could feel my ears touching the outer layer. This will depend on your ear size/shape of course.

Overall, the Logitech G733 LIGHTSPEED wireless headset is a solid choice for gamers seeking an affordable wireless headset with a comfortable fit and decent audio performance. Its sleek design and impressive battery life are definite plus points. The microphone is decent for Discord chats but is lacking quality for streaming, and the lack of heavy bass and shallow earpieces may not appeal to some. For those seeking a more immersive audio experience or a tailored fit, exploring other options might be beneficial.

This review utilised a unit provided by UMM and the Logitech G733 LIGHTSPEED wireless headset is available for purchase at your favoured retailed or PC store.
