Chris InglisAnnounced in June last year, Aliens: Dark Descent is a strategic, real-time squad-based tactical action game by Tindalos Interactive and Focus Entertainment, in collaboration with 20th Century Studios. We finally have a release date and it’s not that far away either! We will hit the battlefield on June 20, 2023, on PlayStation, Xbox and PC. Along with the release date announcement, we have also been blessed with the first gameplay video showing what players can expect after their ship crash lands on Planet Lethe.
Players will command a squad as one unit thanks to intuitive controls on both keyboard/mouse and controllers, allowing their Marines to automatically prioritize and execute complex actions in real-time, based on their respective skill sets and the environment around them. Navigate levels strategically, making sure to leverage the persistent and reactive environments to your advantage by sealing off checkpoints, unlocking shortcuts, or creating safe zones. Be cautious and monitor each marines’ vitals – for any who falls in combat, death is permanent.
- Face off in a gripping original Alien story against iconic Xenomorph creatures ranging from Facehuggers to Praetorians, Alien Queens and many more, including rogue human commandos and a brand-new threat unique to this Alien storyline.
- Lead strategically and change squad tactics from mission to mission, carefully managing your soldiers’ health, resources, and sanity, to avoid permanent team losses and mental breakdowns.
- Forge unique paths for survival in a persistent world, uncovering shortcuts, creating safe zones and setting up motion trackers to stay one step ahead of these creatures.
- Assemble and level up squads composed of 5 starting Marines classes, with dozens of specializations, unique abilities and weapons.
Aliens: Dark Descent, the riveting, single player, squad-based action experience set in the Alien universe, will release on June 20, 2023, on Playstation 4/5, Xbox One & Series X/S, and PC.
