Pokemon Presents August 2023: All You Need To Know

The Pokemon Company have shown off over 30 minutes of new information in the Pokemon Presents August 2023 presentation. There’s a ton of news about Pokemon GO, Pokemon Unite as well as an update on the DLC for Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet.

We first got news on this year’s Pokemon World Championships taking place in Yokohama, Japan. Competitors will go head-to-head in Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet, the Pokemon TCG, Pokemon GO and Pokemon Unite to see who will be crowned the best in the world. Fans can watch from their homes on the Pokemon, PokemonTCG, PokemonGO and PokemonUNITE Twitch channels. The Pokemon World Championships festivities are happening now until the 14th August.

A new animated short series, Pokemon Path To The Peak, was announced. This series follows a young girl as she discovers her passion for playing the Pokemon TCG alongside her partner Pokemon Oddish. Episode 1 will be available on YouTube from August 11th.

Detective Pikachu Returns, the latest game in the Detective Pikachu series, got a new trailer. The adorable Detective Pikachu partners with human Tim. Together they search for Tim’s dad as they unravel a mystery in Rime City. Working together, Tim talks to the people and Detective Pikachu talks to the Pokemon to solve cases. Other Pokemon can be used to help out, like Growlith tracking clues by scent. Detective Pikachu Returns releases on 6th October. Pre-orders are available now.

Pokemon Presents August 2023 Mobile Games

Pokemon Go and Pokemon Unite updates were announced in Pokemon Presents August 2023. In Pokemon GO, Pokemon Go Fest events in London, Osaka and New York, as well as a global event on the 26th and 27th August are coming. Pokemon from the Paldea region are also coming to Pokemon GO.

Having recently celebrated its 2nd anniversary, Pokemon Unite has a new mode, Panic Parade. Protect your base from wild Pokemon in this new battle. Mewtwo joins the battle. An event is happening right now for players to earn the legendary Pokemon.

Pokemon Masters EX is getting its first sync pair from the Paldea region. Nemona and Pawmot will debut in an event soon. Pokemon Café Remix is also getting a new Pokemon. Curly form Tatsugiri will be appearing soon!

Nintendo Switch Online subscribers have received a welcome surprise. Gameboy Color game Pokemon Trading Card Game and Pokemon Stadium 2 for the Nintendo 64 are making their way to Nintendo Switch Online and Expansion Pack respectively. Fans of these games can play them now.

Pokemon Scarlet & Pokemon Violet

The bulk of the Pokemon Presents August 2023 presentation was taken up with more information about updates for Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet.

Pokemon Presents August 2023 announces Mew and Mewtwo coming to Pokemon Scarlet/Violet

Mew and Mewtwo are coming to the latest Pokemon games with the event Get Mew & Mewtwo. Mew can be added to your team by entering the code GETY0URMEW into the Mystery Gift menu in the game (available until Sept 18th at 14:59 UTC). Mewtwo will be appearing in a new Tera Raid Battle event from September 1st to September 17th. If you are able to beat him you’ll get the chance to capture this legendary Pokemon.

The last update was about the upcoming DLC, The Hidden Treasure Of Area Zero. In Part 1 The Teal Mask, players will journey to the land of Kitakami on a student exchange. Pokemon not found in the Paldea region will be available here.

In Part 2 The Indigo Disk, players are invited to Blueberry Academy. With special biomes for different types of Pokemon, players will find a new challenge as they compete to battle a new Elite 4.

Part 1 The Teal Mask will release on September 13th with Part 2 The Indigo Disk will arrive later this year.
