Chris InglisThe Last Oricru is an action RPG with a strong emphasis on storytelling and player choices, developed by GoldKnights and published by Prime Matter, and will release October 13 on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. The Last Oricru combines meaningful story choices with a demanding and skill-based combat system that will challenge players both 1-on-1 and in mass battles against multiple enemies.
The Last Oricru puts you in the middle of an ongoing conflict between two races, on a partly terraformed planet, isolated from outer space by a protective barrier. Your decisions will bring interesting twists into the gameplay, as you can heavily influence the conflict and its outcome. It’s dangerous to go alone, so the co-op system can be accessed after the tutorial for the entirety of the game. A hop-in/hop-out system allows a second player to jump into the action at any time and drop out again just as easily. A level match makes sure to offer a smooth experience and can help take down some huge bosses together.
The game features a massive decision tree in which your decisions lead to different outcomes, affecting story, characters, game endings but also visuals of levels or even the gameplay flow. Every action, sub-quest or life taken can affect your reputation with each faction. There are multiple ways to play through The Last Oricru and no right or wrong decision. The combat is easy to learn but hard to master and aims to create a tough but rewarding experience. Melee and ranged weapons with unique attack animations and secondary abilities, shields, techno-magical items, weight management and upgrade system offer a wide range of customization for your play-style.
Hailing out of Prague, Czech Republic, GoldKnights was founded in 2015 by Creative Director Pavel J. Strnad with a vision to build an epic gaming saga, joined later by Executive Producer Vladimir Gersl (Activision, Sony) to help utilize the potential of the studio to the fullest. A nearly 40 heads strong team, combines experienced professionals (PUBG, Keen Software House, NapNok Games, Ubisoft) with go-getting juniors, creating a unique mix of know-how and passion. Last year I got to sit down with Vladimír Geršl, Executive Producer of GoldKnights as he talked me through the bloody civil war of supremacy on Wardenia in this single player and co-op experience.
