Warhammer 40,000: Gladius – Demolition Pack was announced by Slitherine at the recent Warhammer Skulls Festival and launched on May 24. You will need to own the turn-based strategy game Warhammer 40,000: Gladius – Relics of War from developers Proxy Studios. This DLC injects a dose of offensive power into the game with the introduction of 11 brand new units across the playable factions.
This infusion of firepower caters to aggressive playstyles. Ork players can unleash the Burna Boy, an anti-infantry unit with a flamethrower, Necrons gain the Skorpekh Destroyer that is an elite armoured close-range infantry unit, while Astra Militarum gains the Field Ordnance Battery which is a large man-portable artillery unit able to fire long range. Given I had most recently been playing the Drukhari DLC, I played with the Talos unit which is a heavy assault creature that has powerful close-range weapons. A full list of units added is on the game’s Steam page.
For lore enthusiasts of the Warhammer 40,000 universe, Demolition Pack is a visual delight. The DLC stays true to the franchise’s established background by introducing iconic units that Warhammer fans will instantly recognise. Seeing these lore-faithful representations brought to life on the battlefield adds another layer of immersion for players.
While the Demolition Pack offers a strategic boost by adding new units, there’s no additional campaigns, maps or new mechanics. If you’re a seasoned Gladius player seeking to utilise new offensive options in your strategies, then Demolition Pack is a solid recommend. The new units add a layer of complexity and open doors for fresh approaches to combat. If you’re new to Warhammer 40,000: Gladius – Relics of War, you are better off getting the complete edition that includes all the DLCs, including Demolition Pack. This way, you’ll have access to the full range of units and content from the get-go.
This review utilised a key provided by Slitherine and the Warhammer 40,000: Gladius – Demolition Pack is available now on Steam.
